Product and furniture designer
I tried to use the material of a product as a mechanism and proposed a solution that could allow a hard material like to become a “curtain".

A big part of my work as a designer relies on experimental projects and trial and error. For the 2016 edition of Mexico’s Design Week and the new talents exhibition “Territorio Creativo: Inédito” I tried to use the material of a product as a mechanism and proposed a solution that could allow a hard material like plywood to become a “curtain” or “shutter” that revealed or hid its contents. The final result (a sideboard) also proved to be very visually appealing and relatively easy to manufacture. It was exhibited at theTamayo Museum in Mexico City in 2016 gathering good opinions and interest.

This product still has a long way to go to be industrially manufactured, and it currently is a work in progress but has many ramifications and possibilities open for the future.
